Work in progress

I am working on a commission for another small headpiece for a friend. i am so glad someone apart from me appreciates the beauty that is leopard printed sinamay.

Tiffany has bought a selection of beautiful shaped cock feathers in tonal greys and browns and some daring pink feathers.

A girl after my own heart, I was instantly inspired.

I really enjoy doing commissions because they give me the space to experiment whilst sticking to the brief set by the wearer. I hope it is the start of many to come.

Check out my progress so far and watch this space for which one she chooses.......... sorry about the background!!

Don't give up you day job ................

Whilst exploring my options and trying to figure out how to make millinery more of a career than a hobby teaching weekend classes has always been at the back of my mind.

Imagine my enthusiasm when Camilla forwarded me an advert for hat class assistants needed for Katherine Elizabeth millinery.

It all happened very quickly and I found myself spending 4 hours on Saturday helping to teach a very civilised hen party how to make their own fascinators.

It was such good fun. If you know any up-coming hen parties check out her web-site.

Who knows I could even be one of your instructors!!

Distinctive with a distinction.

Having now completed my BTEC in millinery design I thought it about time to take some proper shots of my hats to showcase my work. My beautiful sister kindly agreed to model for me.

They are going to be for my new website but I thought I would add the raw form of the images to my blog for you all to see.

I am really proud of these and hope they are the shape of many hats to come.

I would love to know what you all think.

I have more hats which didn't quite work with her hair colour so any blondes out there let me know if your are up for a spot of modelling.
